
Elaine Lemm is a freelance food writer, recipe developer and more recently, expert product reviewer for BBC Good Food. She has a proven track record in content development and management and as a food writer for over 20 years. She was voted one of the top 50 food writers in the UK.
As well as seven years as Food and Wine Editor at Yorkshire Life magazine, Elaine has written for many leading magazines including Waitrose Food Illustrated and Olive and has an enviable job as restaurant critic for the Yorkshire Post Saturday Magazine. For five years, she worked for the New York Times Company writing extensively on-line about British and Irish Food. Following the sale, by the time to IAC Media, is now a recipe developer, writer and photographer for the world-famous Spruce Eats website and at Food 52.
Elaine is the author of 3 food books including the acclaimed Great Book of Yorkshire Pudding which sells worldwide and is in its 3rd Edition. Her new book, More Than Yorkshire Puddings will be published in October 2022.
Through a feast of over 100 recipes, stories, and stunning photography, More Than Yorkshire Puddings is a personal book and Elaine’s culinary journey from Yorkshire with its exciting and immensely varied foods thanks to its magnificent coastline, cities, and countryside to living and working in many countries worldwide.
In the book, she brings together the influences from that journey, so expect to have your senses assaulted with untold tastes, scents and textures on a voyage rich with both much-loved Yorkshire favourites and a wealth of multi-cultural recipes.
Elaine works remotely from her home in North Yorkshire, where she lives with her husband and occasionally has a house full of kids and family to feed, which she loves. For downtime, she enjoys yoga, is a keen sculptor when she has time, loves nothing more than pottering about in the garden and long walks in the glorious Yorkshire landscape.
