March 20, 2017July 4, 2017 Elaine Lemm

I love these quirky awards which were founded in 2005  to help to preserve, grow and widen one of the most British of customs – marmalade making. Read About the World Marmalade Awards 2017 My Easy Home Made Marmalade Recipe

Rons new favourite while at celebration lunch for our lovely friend Bengt’s 80th birthday in Stockholm. Skagenröra is a classic Swedish dish of fat shrimps, dill and mayo with butter soaked fried bread. Seriously what is not to like?
So near the end of writing and photographing the book and I love having been reunited with some old recipes that have got lost on the way. Ones like this Torta di Limone that we loved to make at the cooking school in Tuscany. It’s like meeting an old friend I’ve not see for years and remembering how much I liked them 🤣
Just making a huge batch of this sauce for a Stromboli for dinner, a tomato consommé just because and pasta sauce when the little people come for the day on Wednesday. It really is the best with many uses. Step by step link how to make it in my profile. The best way now I have found is to make this in my @sageappliancesuk multi cooker, it does a cracking job but other pressure cookers are available 🤣🤣🤣
So close to finishing my book (weeks to go but getting there) what I have all but done are the recipes, each one tested and many retested, I’ve photographed and written them and are in editing right now. Here’s a favourite from last weeks final few. It’s husband Rons favourite. He makes it almost weekly it seems. The original comes from the super @theseafoodshackullapool (with their permission)but here he uses Whitby cod and as I do not like smoked paprika that’s out and a few personal tweaks. Their book was one of my absolute favourites last year and we cook from it a lot. If you are up that way, do visit.
All winter in the ground and I wondered if anything would happen, vegetable gardening needs patience because just three days ago I spied these. Picked ready first our Easter lunch alongside @pipersfarm lamb loin, gratin dauphinois to be shared with great friends. So important to stop for a moment today to count our blessings and think about others. #supportukraine 🇺🇦
There’s some serious bad colds in the house right now, and both of us which is unusual. Blast those germs with some serious chilli paneer oozing sweet peppers, ginger, long slow cooked onions. I’ve thrown in some turmeric and black pepper a good punch of lime and lots of chilli and brown rice. We can just about taste it but know we’ve eaten a good dose of goodness. #chillipaneer
thank you @food52 for reposting this and reminding me of the recipe I created for you! Perhaps breakfast today• @food52 These beauties from @foodwriting have some of the same ingredients as regular buttermilk pancakes, but the magic comes with the ricotta cheese used in the recipe. Plus, the lemon means they are less sweet, so you can pile on all your favorite toppings. 📸: @juliagartland #f52community
The results are in for the finalists in this years awards. Check out on their website to see who made it through. A huge shout out to everyone who entered, wish you all could be finalists. So proud to be involved in these prestigious awards.
I miss you mum, not just today, but every day. ❤️
…and breathe. Back in my happy place. It’s been too long and here we are breathing this air and feeling grateful for some time and space together and with our friends. We are taking a pause to regroup and gather our strength for some major changes. But mainly we are just having fun. The sky truly was that colour today #unfiltered
His and hers. Tickles me every time when we nip out for breakfast. When family reinforcements are there too with @lucyblenkinsop he knows he can get away with fried bread 🤣🤣🤣 it’s not often do I don’t mind especially as he gave me those delicious tomatoes. Great eggs with avo @yolkfarmkitchen which is hardly surprising as their wonderful, happy hens are just outside the door. ❤️❤️❤️ #happybreakfast
Such a different dinner last night, seasonal juicy blood orange, ginger and tomato salad with a tahini sauce, duck and tiny nuggets of crispy potatoes cooked in the fat. Joint effort in the kitchen with me and the other half which was fun. We are so lucky 🙏
